Picture yourself on Old Hickory Lake

Sunset Fishing on Old Hickory Lake
This beautiful lake has been home to several national and regional championship bass tournaments over the past few years, including WalMart FLW, Everstart, Bassmaster Megabucks, BASS Tennessee Eastern Invitational, Super Bass Classic National Championship and Bass Pro Shops Crappiemasters National Championship.   See our tournament schedule
for upcoming events.

Whether you bring your own boat or prefer to rent one of our pontoons, canoes, or jet skis, you’ll have a great time exploring the secluded coves, shady banks and wide-open spaces.

Old Hickory Lake Visitor Center

A trip to the Old Hickory Lake Visitor Center is an excellent way to learn more about the history, navigational facilities, management programs and recreational facilities on the lake.  Located in Rockland Recreation Area in Hendersonville, the center is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  A display depicts the history and development of the Cumberland River and Old Hickory Lake.  An overlook in the park offers a good view of the lock, dam, and power plant.

The
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers site has more information, online maps of the lake and facilities listings.

Other Activities on the Lake

The lake's also a perfect place for picnics, leisurely walks along the shoreline or just watching the sailboats and people. Both Gallatin and Hendersonville have parks along the lakefront with picnic areas, walking/biking trails and more.

Bledsoe Creek State Park offers camping, walking trails, picnic shelters, ballfield, playground and boat ramps
